Perth Scorchers have secured the services of Pakistan captain Fatima Sana, signing her for WBBL|12 on a one-year deal. She will be available for the Scorchers for the opening eight matches of the campaign, adding a valuable experience to the side. Interestingly, Sana is set to become only the second player from Pakistan after Nida Dar to appear in the Women's Big Bash League.

"I've watched the WBBL from Pakistan and always wondered what it would feel like to be part of this great competition,” Sana said in a Scorchers' statement.

"To now wear the Scorchers colours, represent such a great club and walk out at the WACA Ground in front of members and fans, while being cheered on by people back home, is incredibly special. This really is a dream come true."

Sana carries enormous experience, having represented Pakistan in 134 white-ball matches (64 ODIs and 70 T20Is) and remains one of the notable figures in the side. The Scorchers will begin their WBBL|12 campaign against the Melbourne Renegades at the WACA Ground on October 31
