Virat Kohli joins LinkedIn, shares his ambitious vision for Indian sports

Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli is taking a new step beyond cricket by investing in the sportswear industry and building his own business ventures. At 37, Kohli has joined LinkedIn, where he shared his vision for Indian sports and explained why he invested in Agilitas Sports and became a co-founder and co-creator of one8world. Kohli has worked with several major brands throughout his career. However, his latest move reflects a bigger business ambition, as he looks to become more involved in building and growing brands rather than simply endorsing them. He recently introduced Agilitas and one8world at a grand, star-studded event in New Delhi, attended by several well-known personalities. In his first LinkedIn post, Kohli explained his dream of seeing India become a country where every sport receives attention and support.
"I've always wanted to see an India where every sport is followed, celebrated, and played. Today, that vision feels closer than ever," Kohli wrote. He also expressed confidence in India's ability to develop world-class athletes and create brands that can compete internationally. According to Kohli, the goal is to build a complete sports platform from India, covering manufacturing, consumer brands and sports distribution.
"It's a belief that India can help shape the future of global sport, not just participate in it," he added. Kohli has invested around âš40 crore of his own capital in Agilitas Sports, according to the information provided. His involvement also marks a shift in his approach to business, with one8world becoming a venture in which he holds an ownership stake.
Explaining his decision to join the company, Kohli said, "That's why I've joined Agilitas as an investor and as a co-founder and co-creator of one8world." He added that the brand reflects a belief he has followed throughout his cricket career: "progress comes from pushing boundaries, raising standards, and daring to do things differently."
Agilitas Sports is an Indian sportswear and active lifestyle company founded in 2023 by former Puma executives Abhishek Ganguly, Atul Bajaj and Amit Prabhu. For Kohli, this move is about more than business investment. He wants to help build an Indian sports platform with the potential to reach a global audience. "The vision is clear. It's time to build something that will outlive all of us. That's the journey we're on," he wrote. With his experience, public influence and investment in the sportswear industry, Kohli is now looking to create a lasting legacy beyond the cricket field.
