Delhi dished out a sensational batting performance in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy in Pune, setting a new record for the highest team total by a women’s side in domestic T20 cricket. Delhi were commanded by a century from opener Tanisha Singh, who helped the side pile up 262/6 against Hyderabad, surpassing the previous record held by Goa, who accomplished this milestone against Arunachal Pradesh during the 2019–20 season. Tanisha Singh slammed a stunning knock of 119 runs from 47 deliveries, blazing 25 boundaries and one six during her extraordinary knock. Priya Punia, who scored an important 59, also played a key role, forging a 160-run partnership with Tanisha to anchor the side to a massive total.

She brought up her hundred in only 38 balls, which was the joint third-fastest hundred in women’s T20 cricket. Tanisha’s 38-ball hundred also levels her with Deandra Dottin against South Africa in 2010. Kiran Navgire and Sophie Devine have claimed the milestone in fewer deliveries, having scored their centuries in 34 and 36 balls, respectively.

Meanwhile, defending the total, Delhi women restricted Hyderabad women to 154/8 in 20 overs, clinching a 108-run win. For Hyderabad, opening batter Gongadi Trisha gave the team some hope with her spirited 80-run knock. However, other players failed to brave the pressure, with Hyderabad going down to a big defeat.
