Sri Lanka retain winning XI against England in Tri-Series dead rubber

Sri Lanka have decided to retain their strongest playing XI for the tri-series clash against England in Lahore, despite already qualifying for Saturday's final alongside Pakistan. After winning the toss, captain Kusal Mendis elected to bowl first. England, meanwhile, have made one change, bringing in Sonny Baker for Jamie Overton, who is struggling with a minor quad injury. England have been eliminated after suffering three consecutive defeats.
Kusal Mendis has now won seven consecutive tosses since Sri Lanka arrived in Pakistan and has chosen to field first on the last six occasions. Overton took three wickets in Sunday's match against Pakistan, but his injury has forced him out. Adil Rashid has also been left out for the third consecutive match, with Liam Dawson preferred as England's frontline spinner.
Sri Lanka will rely on Kusal Mendis, Kamindu Mendis, Avishka Fernando, and Dasun Shanaka with the bat, while Dunith Wellalage and Asitha Fernando will be key with the ball. England will look to Harry Brook, Joe Root, Ben Duckett, and Sam Curran to deliver strong performances. With favourable weather expected, Sri Lanka will aim to build momentum before the final, while England will look to end their disappointing campaign with a victory.
Sri Lanka Playing XI: Kamindu Mendis, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis (captain/wicketkeeper), Pavan Rathnayake, Sahan Arachchige, Janith Liyanage, Dasun Shanaka, Dunith Wellalage, Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando, Dilshan Madushanka.
England Playing XI: Tom Banton, Ben Duckett, Joe Root, Harry Brook (captain), Jordan Cox (wicketkeeper), Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Gus Atkinson, Henry Crocombe, Sonny Baker.
