ENG vs NZ ODIs: World Cup in focus as both teams meet in the first match

Upcoming ODI World Cup is not too far as England and New Zealand get ready to get into the preparations for the high-profile event with the four-match ODI series scheduled to commence from September 8 at Sophia Gardens. Both teams will have great opportunity to strengthen their preparations for the mega event. This series will provide the opportunity to both teams to experiment their combinations in the lead up to the World Cup. The first match of the series will be played at Sophia Gardens on Friday. Jos Buttler will be leading England in the series as they hope to do well after having failed to get their hands on the T20I series. Recently, both teams played four-match T20I series where England registered victories in the first two matches while New Zealand shone in the last two matches to level the series 2-2.
Talking about New Zealand, Tom Latham will be leading them in the presence of Finn Allen, Devon Conway, Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips in the batting department. While, their bowling attack will have the likes of Trent Boult, Tim Southee and Lockie Ferguson. Looking at their ODI performances, New Zealand hold the upper-hand with their (43) wins from (91) matches. Both teams would expect their players to make their impact and gather confidence for the ODI World Cup.
