BAN vs NZ 1st ODI: Rain forces the match to end in no result

The first ODI between New Zealand and Bangladesh on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium ended in no result with rain having the upper hand. Due to continuous rainfall, the match had been reduced to (42) overs but rain still played its part while disrupting the proceedings. In the 42-over match, New Zealand had been put to bat after Bangladesh skipper Litton Das won the toss. New Zealand were 136/5 in (33.4) overs when rain halted the game that resulted in no result. For New Zealand, Will Young and Henry Nicholls had played good innings with their scores of (58) and (44) respectively. For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman and Nasum Ahmed had taken three and two wickets respectively. The second ODI between both teams will be played on Saturday.
