Asian Games Men’s Cricket final: India’s match vs Afghanistan called off due to rain, India beg Gold
Indian Men’s Cricket team claimed the gold medal after their final match against Afghanistan was abandoned due to rain on Saturday at Pingfeng Campus Cricket Field. India skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl as Afghanistan lost three of their top order batters in quick succession. Shahidullah Kamal scored (49*) alongside Gulbadin Naib (27*) that helped Afghanistan recover from early blows but rain stopped the game when Afghanistan were (112) in (18.5) overs after losing five wickets, however, there was an announcement about the cut-off time but rain didn’t relent that led the match to be abandoned. Team India successfully clinched the Gold medal owing to having higher seeding. Afghanistan settled for Silver while Bangladesh claimed Bronze.
