Tons from Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique prop Pakistan to a 6-wicket win over Sri Lanka

In what seemed to be a huge total to chase, Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique fought hard to power the side to a 6-wicket win over Sri Lanka in their second match of the ongoing World Cup on Tuesday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. It was a massive partnership between Rizwan and Shafique that put Pakistan back into the game after suffering two early blows in the form of Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam. Mohammad Rizwan and Abdullah Shafique scored (131*) and (113) to complete the highest chase in the history of the World Cup. Earlier, choosing to bat after winning the toss, Sri Lanka put up a formidable total of (344) in (50) overs after losing (9) wickets. Sri Lanka had the centuries from Kusal Mendis (122) and Sadeera Samarawickrama (108) that drove the team to hand down a mammoth target. This is Pakistan second consecutive win in the ongoing World Cup.
