England’s young spinner Shoaib Bashir became the second-youngest England bowler to grab a maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket on day three on Sunday of the fourth Test match between India and England in Ranchi. At 20 years and 135 days, Shoaib Bashir registered the figures of 5-119.
Bashir also became the second-youngest overseas player to bag five-wicket haul in India. Bashir got the best of Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Akash Deep and Ravindra Jadeja. Making his debut only in this series, this is Bashir’s second Test match. Bashir has shown great accuracy in his spell, establishing himself as the promising spinner for England.
Talking about the match, India are chasing the target of 192, after bowling out England for 145 in their second innings. India are looking solid in their chase with Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the chase. On the other hand, England’s chances to keep themselves alive in the series are shrinking with India looking set to win the fourth Test.
