Kuldeep Yadav provided a major breakthrough, taking out Ben Duckett to break the swelling partnership between Zak Crawley and Duckett on day one of the ongoing fifth and final Test match between India and England in Dharamshala. Both openers, Crawly and Duckett were dealing in boundaries, putting pressure on India, however, Kuldeep Yadav released some pressure dismissing dangerous Duckett.

A little later, at the stroke of lunch, Ollie Pope departed after being stumped by Dhruv Jurel.  Meanwhile, Crawley scored his half-century as England look for a solid total.

England are 3-1 down in the five-match series as they are determined to end the series on a high note. On the other hand, India have been superior amid home conditions, leaving no room for victory for England. At lunch on day one, England were 100/2 with Zak Crawley unbeaten on (61*). He will be joined by Joe Root when the match resumes post lunch.

Earlier, England decided to bat after winning the toss as they look to have an inspiring ending to the five-match series. Indian veteran Ravichandran Ashwin and England’s Jonny Bairstow are making their 100th Test appearances. For the fifth match, India made changes with Devdutt Padikkal making his debut and Jasprit Bumrah returning for fifth Test after being rested for the fourth Test. India brought in Padikkal in place of Rajat Patidar.
