England Women beat New Zealand Women by five wickets in the fifth and final T20I match on Friday at Basin Reserve to close out the five-match series with a 4-1 victory. Brilliant batting display from England batters saw them chase down the target of (136) in (18.5) overs with seven balls to spare.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and skipper Heather Knight put on a 57-run partnership for the fourth wicket, taking the side to an uplifting victory.

Earlier, England bowlers took control of the game, after New Zealand decided to bat after winning the toss, by taking early wickets, thus stopping the flow of runs for New Zealand. Sophie Ecclestone and Nat Sciver-Brunt claimed three and two wickets respectively. New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Izzy Gaze top-scored with 28-ball 51, lifting the side to a notional total of 136/6 in (20).
