Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy fired their half-centuries while veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar defended (13) off the last over to seal a thrilling win for Sunrisers Hyderabad over table-toppers Rajasthan Royals by one run on Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. A captivating all-round display from SRH launched them to a last-gasp win..

Deciding to bat, SRH opener Travis Head hit his fourth half-century of the season, coupled with a brutal assault from Nitish Kumar, who played a dazzling unbeaten knock of (76) off (42). In the middle, dangerous Heinrich Klaasen smacked (42) off (19) unbeaten, blitzing three fours and three sixes, and propelling the side to 201/3 in (20). Veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s role was supreme, pinning down big hitter Rovman Powell off the last ball, with RR needed two to win.

Chasing the target, RR were given life to their chase by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Riyal Parag, pounding SRH bowlers to score (67) and (77) respectively, after Bhuvneshwar Kumar got rid of Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson in his first over. In the 16th over, skipper Pat Cummins trapped Riyal Parag (77), who was steering RR’s chase with his unwavering determination. However, Bhuvneshwar Kumar held his nerve in the 20th over, restricting Royals for 200/7.
