Afghanistan blow away Uganda for a brilliant start

Afghanistan pulled off a huge victory against Uganda, thrashing them by 125 runs in their opening match on Tuesday at Providence Stadium, Guyana. Defending a challenging total of 183, Afghanistan wrapped up Uganda’s innings for 58 in 16 overs , with Fazalhaq Farooqi striking with five scalps. Naveen-ul-Haq and Rashid Khan shared two wickets each. 

Earlier, put to bat, Afghanistan put out a massive total of 183 in 20 overs after losing five wickets. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran pummeled Uganda bowlers to score (76) and (70) respectively thus, powering Afghanistan to a formidable total. Both had put on a 125-run partnership to open the innings positively for Afghanistan. 

Afghanistan bowlers also came out with a glamorous spell, taking out Uganda batters one after another. Fazalhaq Farooqi claimed the fourth-best T20I figures in the history of T20I World Cup as he leaked 9 runs for 5 wickets from his four overs.
