David Miller addresses retirement rumours

Recently, there have been swirling rumours about South Africa’s big hitter David Miller’s retirement from T20 International cricket. These speculations gained traction just days after South Africa suffered their defeat against India in the final of the T20I World Cup 2024. However, David Miller has decisively addressed these rumours, clarifying that he has not retired from T20Is. Moreover, Miller has stated that he remains committed to representing South Africa in T20 cricket.
"Contrary to some reports, I have not retired from T20 International cricket. I will continue to be available to play for the Proteas. The best is yet to come," Miller wrote in his Instagram story.
South Africa, meanwhile had to suffer a painful defeat against India in the final of the T20I World Cup despite dominating India from the outset. South Africa fluffed in their chase of 176, losing middle-order batters in quick succession. As for Miller, he tried to put up a fight, when South Africa needed 16 off final over, but a massive hit from him was stopped by Suryakumar Yadav, holding on to a difficult catch to remove Miller.
Miller also opened up about South Africa's disappointing loss as their struggle to earn their maiden World Cup title was extended.
"I am gutted!! Really tough pill to swallow after what transpired 2 days ago. Words don't explain how I am feeling. One thing I do know is how proud I am of this unit. This journey was an incredible one, highs and lows throughout the entire month. We have endured pain, but I know this team has the resilience and will keep raising the bar."
