As the Women’s T20I World Cup 2024 progresses, Indian Women are preparing to take on Sri Lanka Women in a crucial match on Wednesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Having faced defeat in their opening game, the pressure is on for India to secure a victory that could revitalise their campaign and improve their Net Run Rate.

India started the tournament with high hopes but has struggled to find form, suffering defeat in the first game that have left them at a crossroads. The loss in the first game has not only affected their standings in the group but also left them in a must-win situation. With limited opportunities left to advance in the tournament, India will look forward to coming out strongly.

India, however, have a formidable squad but their batters have failed to fire on all cylinders. After facing defeat against New Zealand in their opening match, India bounced back to claim victory against Pakistan in their second match. Yet, the major concern for team India remains their batting as their batters are yet to demonstrate their batting skills. To return strongly, India will need to improve themselves in all departments.

The other challenge for India would be to overcome Sri Lanka, who had beaten India in the Asia Cup 2024 final recently. Though, Sri Lanka have suffered two consecutive defeats but they have the capability to come out stronger and challenge India.
