AUS vs PAK 2nd ODI: Rauf stars as Pakistan demolish Australia

Pakistan demolished Australia by nine wickets in the second ODI of the ongoing three-match series at Adelaide Oval, levelling the series 1-1 after a dominant all-round performance. Chasing a modest total of 163, Pakistan openers Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique guided their team to a comfortable victory, hammering (82) and (64*) respectively. Meanwhile, Haris Rauf’s sensational bowling performance earlier left Australia’s batting line-up in tatters.
Being asked to bat, Australian batters struggled to get going, thanks largely to an impressive performance from Haris Rauf. Who produced one of the most memorable ODI spells of his career. He picked up key wickets, including that of the in-form Steve Smith. Haris Rauf finished with remarkable figures of 5/29.
On the back of Steve Smith’s 35, Australia could only manage 163 runs before being bowled out in the 35th over. Rauf’s masterful five-wicket haul was the highlight of a devastating bowling display from Pakistan. With a target of 164 runs to chase, Pakistan openers, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique, showed great composure and confidence. Pakistan went past the target in 26.3 overs to seal the victory.
