PSL 2025: Babar in focus as Peshawar face Islamabad

Peshawar Zalmi will be aiming to recover from a loss in their first game as they gear up to take on Islamabad United in the fifth match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League on Monday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi. Babar’s Zalmi launched their campaign on a rocky note after they were decimated by Quetta Gladiators by 80 runs in the 2nd match of the tournament.
Islamabad United, on the other hand, will be looking to make it two from two, having claimed an eight-wicket win in their first match against Lahore Qalandars.
In their first match, Peshawar Zalmi were bowled out for 136 in 15.1 overs in their chase of 216, with Babar Azam continuing to fail and live up to the expectations. Saim Ayub, though, scored a half-century, but he didn’t receive the required support from the other end. Heading into this match, the spotlight will be on skipper Babar Azam to deliver and lead the side to victory. Meanwhile, Islamabad United will look to continue with the same approach to claim back-to-back wins.
