Virender Sehwag lashes out at RCB batters following loss vs Punjab

Royal Challengers Bengaluru have come under heavy criticism after their third consecutive home defeat, this time at the hands of Punjab Kings in the rain-reduced clash on Friday. RCB were unable to capitalise on their home advantage, falling short in all aspects of the game, particularly with the bat.

In the aftermath of the defeat, former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag ripped into RCB’s batting lineup for failing to put up a fight. Talismanic players Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, who have been instrumental in the team’s past successes, failed to come to the party when it mattered most.

"RCB batted poorly. All of them played reckless shots to get out. Not a single batter was out to a good ball. At least one batter should've used common sense. If they had wickets in hand, they could have reached 110 or 120 in 14 overs, which would have given them a chance to fight," Sehwag said on Cricbuzz.

Amid the batting chaos on home turf, Sehwag feels that skipper Rajat Patidar needs to come up with a solution to address batting issues.

"Patidar has to think and come up with a solution. They have not been winning at home. Their bowlers are doing well but why are their batters faltering regularly? It's not alright if your batters continuously fail at home. Who is going to rectify that?" Sehwag said.
