Donovan Ferreira powers RR to thrilling win over PBKS

Punjab Kings suffered their first setback of the IPL 2026 season on Tuesday, going down to Rajasthan Royals in a high-scoring thriller at the PCA New Cricket Stadium. Rajasthan chased down a massive target of 223 with six wickets in hand, finishing at 228/4 in 19.2 overs.
RR's pursuit was led by a series of commanding performances at the top. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal gave the side a nice start, pummelling a brilliant half-century. Donovan Ferreira, down the order, scored a splendid 52 unbeaten to guide the side to victory. Earlier in the innings, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had slammed a blistering 43 off just 16 balls.
Punjab Kings, asked to bat, had earlier put up a formidable total. Prabhsimran Singh gave them an ideal start, playing with a much-needed 59. Cooper Connolly and Shreyas Iyer scored 30 runs each.
Later, all-rounder Marcus Stoinis unleashed a stunning assault, smashing 62 runs of 22 deliveries. His late burst lifted Punjab to a 222/4 in 20 overs.
