IPL 2025: KKR edge out DC, keep playoff hopes alive

In a high-scoring showdown, Kolkata Knight Riders pulled off a blazing 14-run victory over Delhi Capitals on Tuesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match went down to the wire, but KKR held their nerve to come out victorious. Despite a valiant 62-run knock by veteran Faf du Plessis, DC failed to chase down the imposing target of 205 set by KKR.
Chasing the target, DC’s innings got off to a shaky start, losing their wickets at regular intervals. Faf stood tall amidst the chaos, launching a solo fightback with a brilliant 62-run knock. Skipper Axar Patel also tried to steady the ship with a valuable 43, but the lack of support from the rest of the batting order cost them the match. DC were restricted to 190/9 in 20 overs. For KKR, Sunil Narine took three wickets, while Varun Chakravarthy returned with two wickets.
Earlier, KKR, asked to bat, rose to the challenge with a strong team performance. Their batters worked in unison to compile a competitive total of 204/9 in 20 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi top-scored with his 44, while Rinku Singh played a handy cameo of 36 off 25 balls. Sunil Narine and Ajinkya Rahane also scored 27 and 26, respectively.
