Joe Root reaches great milestone

Legendary England batter Joe Root reached a gigantic batting milestone as he became the fastest batter to score 13,000 Test runs in terms of matches. Root accomplished the landmark achievement during day one of England’s four-day Test against Zimbabwe on Thursday at Trent Bridge.

With the mammoth record, Root went past greats Jacques Kallis (159), Rahul Dravid (160), and Sachin Tendulkar (163). He achieved the record in his 153rd Test match. Meanwhile, England, being asked to bat, posted a humongous total of 498/3 on day one, with Ben Duckett (140), Zak Crawley (124) and Ollie Pope (169*) notching up centuries.
