South Africa dealt another injury blow, Kwena Maphaka out of Australia ODIs
South Africa have been dealt another crushing blow, with pacer Kwena Maphaka being the latest bowler to be ruled out of the Australia ODIs due to a right hamstring strain. He is the latest addition to South Africa’s growing fast bowling injury list.
Maphaka will undergo further assessment to determine the extent of the injury. Amid this, South Africa have brought in Lizaad Williams as his replacement, and he will join the squad on Wednesday. Maphaka joins Kagiso Rabada, Ottniel Baartman and Lungi Ngidi to be ruled out of the series due to injury setbacks.
Meanwhile, the three-match ODI series will be played on September 24, 27 and 30 in Durban, Johannesburg and Potchefstroom, respectively. After the ODI series, both South Africa and Australia will face each other in a three-match Test series, beginning on October 9.
