Keshav Maharaj ruled out of 2nd Test vs Zimbabwe

South Africa’s stand-in captain, Keshav Maharaj, has been ruled out of the second Test against Zimbabwe following a left groin injury. In his absence, all-rounder Wiaan Mulder will lead the side in the second Test that begins on July 6 in Bulawayo.
Maharaj, who led South Africa in the first Test in the absence of regular captain Temba Bavuma, who was out owing to a hamstring strain sustained during the World Test Championship final against Australia at Lord’s, performed impressively in the first game.
He claimed four wickets and slammed a half-century in the second innings, contributing to South Africa’s 328-run win. Senuran Muthusamy has been named Maharaj’s replacement for the second Test.
