Afghanistan unveil preliminary squad for tri-series, Asia Cup
Afghanistan have unveiled a 22-player preliminary squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against UAE and Pakistan. The squad, which will be led by the decorated all-rounder Rashid Khan, boasts formidable contenders such as Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Gulbadin Naib. Newbies Wafiullah Tarakhil, Abdullah Ahmadzai and Bashir Ahmad have also been included in the squad.
Ahead of the series, the squad will undergo a two-week training camp in preparation for the tri-series that will be held in the UAE. Afghanistan will kick off their campaign by locking horns with Pakistan in the first match on August 29 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
