In a stunning move, Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter and ODI captain Mohammad Rizwan has signed a deal with the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots for the remainder of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League 2025, as per ESPNcricinfo. The CPL is expected to officially confirm the signing of Rizwan in the coming hours. Rizwan steps in as Fazalhaq Farooqi’s replacement, adding firepower to a side already struggling to claim victories in the ongoing season.

Fazalhaq Farooqi is set to join the Afghanistan squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against the UAE and Pakistan, beginning on August 29. Rizwan, who was recently left out of Pakistan's squad for the Asia Cup 2025, is set to participate in the CPL for the first time.

Meanwhile, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots will take on Barbados Royals in the 8th match of the league on Thursday, and Rizwan's participation in the match remains uncertain. Talking about St Kitts and Nevis Patriots' campaign in the ongoing season, they have secured one victory out of four matches so far. However, they will eye a win in their upcoming match to cement their position in the points table.
