India’s dynamic opener Yashasvi Jaiswal is set to return to domestic action in the upcoming round of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy, beginning November 1, when Mumbai take on Rajasthan in an Elite Group D clash at Jaipur.Jaiswal, who was recently with team India touring Australia for the limited-overs series, will be eager to make the most of his time in the domestic circuit before the high-profile home Test series against South Africa, which starts on November 14 in Kolkata.

Jaiswal didn't feature in any match of the three-match ODI series against Australia, but this domestic game will help him get into the rhythm ahead of the Test series vs South Africa. According to ESPNCricinfo, Jaiswal has conveyed his availability for the third-round fixture to Sanjay Patil, Mumbai's chairman of selectors. The squad for the third round will be picked following the end of the second round on Tuesday.

This move aligns with the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) recent directive requiring all centrally contracted players to participate in domestic tournaments whenever they are not on national duty. The board has been encouraging top players to contribute to domestic cricket.
