Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf has been ruled out of the second ODI against South Africa, as he continues to serve a suspension handed down by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The pacer had already missed the first ODI of the ongoing series on Tuesday, following a two-match ban in the wake of multiple disciplinary breaches committed during the Asia Cup 2025.

According to the ICC’s official statement, Rauf accumulated four demerit points from two separate offences committed during Pakistan’s matches against India in the tournament. These demerit points automatically translated into a one-match suspension per two points, leading to his exclusion from the current series. It is worth noting that once a player piles up four demerit points within a 24-month period, a two-match suspension automatically comes into effect. According to the ICC, Rauf was found guilty of "conduct that brings the game into disrepute" - Article 2.21 - in two separate incidents during India-Pakistan clashes on September 14 and September 28. India captain Suryakumar Yadav has also been fined 30 per cent of his match fee along with two demerit points.

Meanwhile, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah accepted a charge and received an official warning along with one demerit point. Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan received a warning and was handed one demerit point. Arshdeep Singh was charged with a breach of Article 2.6, which pertains to using a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting, for actions on September 21. However, he was found not guilty.
