Meghalaya star Akash Kumar Choudhary creates first-class history, smashes eight sixes in a row

Demonstrating a sensational display of power-hitting, Meghalaya’s Akash Kumar Choudhary etched his name into first-class cricket history on Sunday, becoming only the third player in first-class cricket to smash six sixes in a single over and recording the fastest fifty in first-class history, reaching the mark in just 11 balls.
His landmark achievement was accompanied by an unprecedented sequence of eight sixes in a row. He claimed the record during Meghalaya's Plate Group game in the Ranji Trophy match against Arunachal Pradesh at the C K Pithawala Ground in Surat.
The heroics came on Day 2 of the match as Choudhary smashed six sixes off left‐arm spinner Limar Dabi in the 126th over of his team’s innings. And he continued his, hitting two more sixes in the next over to notch up eight sixes in a row, a sequence that had never been done before in the history of first-class cricket.
