Lungi Ngidi added to South Africa' squad for 2nd Test against India

South Africa have drafted pacer Lungi Ngidi into their squad for the second Test against India in Guwahati, beginning on November 22. His inclusion could be a sign that Kagiso Rabada, who was on the sidelines during the first Test with a rib injury, could be in doubt for the second game.
Ngidi, whose last appearance in Test cricket was in the World Test Championship final against Australia in June earlier this year, has played 20 Test matches in his career. Notably, he has played just one Test match in India; that was back in 2019 in Ranchi. In that match, he was wicketless. Overall, Ngidi has taken 58 wickets in 20 Tests at 23.37.
As of now, South Africa's pace battery includes Marco Jansen, Corbin Bosch and Wiaan Mulder. The second and final Test will be played in Guwahati from November 22. South Africa are currently leading the series 1-0 after decimating India in the first game in Kolkata. South Africa's victory in the opening Test was their first on Indian soil since 2010.
