Dasun Shanaka to lead Dubai Capitals in ILT20 season 4

Sri Lanka all-rounder Dasun Shanaka has been handed the task of leading the defending champions Dubai Capitals in season 4 of the ILT20 after being named the captain of the side. He was part of the Capitals' squad that won the title in season 3. Shanaka, who boasts both experience and performance, has piled up 1,659 runs and taken 41 wickets across 117 T20 matches.
In the last edition of the tournament, Shanaka scored 164 runs in 12 matches at an eye-catching strike rate of 202.46. He will be succeeding David Warner at the helm.
Reacting to his appointment, Dasun Shanaka thanked the franchise for showing immense faith in him.
“It's a huge honour to lead Dubai Capitals. This franchise has shown tremendous belief in me, and I'm excited to take on the responsibility. We have a balanced, hungry squad, and I'm confident we can play fearless cricket and make our fans proud this season,” Shanaka said.
Shanaka, who is vastly experienced, will be expected to play a vital role for the Capitals in the upcoming season. Dubai Capitals will begin their campaign against Desert Vipers on December 2.
