Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma became the joint second-most expensive player ever sold in the WPL, returning to her former franchise UP Warriorz (UPW) for a hefty INR 3.2 crore. Deepti Sharma fresh off being named Player of the Tournament at the recent Women’s ODI World Cup, was the biggest earner in the marquee set.

With DC standing uncontested at INR 50 lakh, UP Warriorz exercised the Right-to-Match (RTM) card. Delhi responded by taking the price all the way up to INR 3.2 crore, forcing UPW to match it if they wished to reclaim their star all-rounder. UPW, on the other hand, matched the amount to secure Deepti once again. Amelia Kerr was the next biggest earner, with Mumbai Indians securing her for INR 3 crore.

Delhi Capitals acquired the services of Laura Wolvaardt for INR 1.1 crore following a short bidding war with RCB. Meanwhile, Gujarat Giants signed Renuka Singh for INR 60 lakh. They also signed Sophie Devine for INR 2 crore. The biggest surprise came when Australia skipper Alyssa Healy went unsold. Grace Harris also went unsold.
