The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has confirmed that Pakistan will commence their build-up to the 2026 T20 World Cup with a crucial three-match T20I series in Sri Lanka early next year. All three matches will be played at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on January 7, 9, and 11, 2026.

Pakistan recently enjoyed series wins over South Africa and Sri Lanka, including a win in the T20 tri-series. The series against Sri Lanka will also mark Pakistan’s first white-ball assignment of the new year, providing a valuable opportunity for the side to acclimatise to local conditions.

Notably, the 2026 T20 World Cup is set to be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka. However, under the hybrid model, Pakistan will play all of their World Cup matches in Sri Lanka. In the T20I World Cup, Pakistan are slotted alongside India, USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands in Group A.
