Indian cricket icon Virat Kohli is reportedly set to grace the 2025–26 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, representing Delhi. The tournament, India’s premier domestic 50-over competition, begins on December 24, 2025, in Ahmedabad. At 37, Kohli currently plays only one format for the national side, the ODI format.

Now, with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) mandating that contracted Indian players feature in domestic competitions when fit and available, his return becomes significant. Kohli has appeared in 12 matches in Vijay Hazare Trophy, scoring 763 runs. He has also blasted four centuries in the tournament.

His last appearance in the tournament was back in 2010. Recently, Virat Kohli was impressive in the first ODI against South Africa in Ranchi, where he scored a blistering 135-run knock, smacking his 52nd ODI century.
