Afghanistan leg-spinner Rashid Khan has been drafted into MI Emirates' squad for the ongoing ILT20 2025-26 as a replacement for England all-rounder Jordan Thompson, who has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury.

His inclusion provides MI Emirates with a massive boost not only in the spin department but also in the lower-order hitting. Rashid shares a long association with the MI setup. Earlier this year, he led MI Cape Town to their maiden SA20 title, defeating Sunrisers Eastern Cape in a pulsating final. Rashid has also been a key part of MI New York in Major League Cricket (MLC), representing them in the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

MI Emirates will kick off their campaign against Gulf Giants in Dubai on December 4. In this season, they are being led by Kieron Pollard.
