South Africa have levelled the T20I series against India, producing a commanding all-round performance to defeat the hosts by 51 runs in the second T20I on Thursday in Mullanpur. An impressive batting display, followed by disciplined bowling, helped the visitors bounce back strongly after losing the opening encounter.

Asked to bat, South Africa delivered a highly impressive performance with the bat, piling up an imposing 213/4 in 20 overs. Quinton de Kock was at his brutal best at the top of the order, smashing a scintillating 90 off just 46 balls. Late acceleration came from Donovan Ferreira (30* off 16) and David Miller (20* off 12), both of whom ensured South Africa crossed the 200-run mark with authority. For India, Varun Chakravarthy stood out with a composed spell, claiming two wickets, but it was a forgettable outing for Indian pacers. Jasprit Bumrah leaked runs unusually, while Arshdeep Singh endured a nightmare over, delivering seven wides and struggling with his rhythm throughout.

Meanwhile, chasing 214, India encountered a terrible start, with the top order crumbling within the powerplay. Shubman Gill fell cheaply, and Abhishek Sharma followed soon after. Moreover, Captain Suryakumar Yadav departed early, leaving India in deep trouble. Notably, Tilak Varma waged a lone battle, slamming 62. But his effort could not rescue India, as the hosts were bowled out for 162 in 19.1 overs.
