Hobart Hurricanes are preparing to host the Perth Scorchers in the final of the Women’s Big Bash League on Saturday at Hobart. The Hurricanes, who have never before lifted the WBBL trophy, enter the final with a golden opportunity to lift the title.

Their opponents, however, come armed with experience and momentum. The Scorchers booked their ticket to the final with a hard-fought 11-run win over the Sydney Sixers in Thursday’s Challenger, showcasing the determination that previously carried them to the WBBL|07 title. A second championship now lies within reach.

When the Hurricanes and Scorchers met at Ninja Stadium on November 29, Hobart executed one of the most remarkable run chases in WBBL history, hauling in a record target to claim victory by seven wickets. They chased 186 in 19.1 overs to secure a thumping win.

Perth’s lineup is stacked with big-game performers, and their performance in the Challenger indicated they are peaking at just the right time. Meanwhile, Hobart’s hunger for a maiden title will set the scene for a blockbuster clash.
