CSK create history with record uncapped buy

In an eye-catching event at the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 mini-auction in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, Chennai Super Kings created headlines by signing two uncapped Indian talents, Prashant Veer and Kartik Sharma, for a record ₹14.20 crore each. This was the highest amount ever paid for uncapped players in IPL history.
CSK’s strategy paid off as the franchise outbid several competitors in fierce bidding wars to secure these young stars. Kartik Sharma has been impressive with his strong batting performances in domestic competition.
Veer, on the other hand, has featured in 12 T20Is so far, scoring 112 runs at a strike rate of 167.16. He has also claimed 12 wickets in nine innings at an economy rate of 6.45. These signings clearly fit into CSK's reputation for turning relatively unknown players into reliable performers on the big stage.
