Duffy, Patel power New Zealand to series win over West Indies

New Zealand capped off a dominant home Test campaign by crushing West Indies by 323 runs in the third and final Test at Bay Oval on Monday, clinching a 2–0 series win. New Zealand dominated the proceedings throughout the match, with an exceptional all-round performance.
The hosts, after putting out an impressive first-innings total of 575/8d, bowled West Indies out for 420. And in their second innings, they posted 306/2d to set West Indies a monumental target of 462. Chasing the target, West Indies crumbled to 138, handing New Zealand a convincing victory on the fifth day.
New Zealand’s top order overpowered the visitors early in the match, with experienced openers Devon Conway and Tom Latham leading the onslaught. Conway was the star of the show, scoring both a double century and a century in the same Test. Latham’s steady contributions further helped New Zealand, slamming 137 and 101 across both innings. The brutal assault from both batters helped New Zealand compile big scores and dominate West Indies.
On the fifth day, New Zealand’s bowlers led a strangling bowling attack. Jacob Duffy was the standout bowler, claiming a five-wicket haul to rip through West Indies' batters and finish with figures of 5/42. Ajaz Patel took three crucial wickets, while Glenn Phillips and Rachin Ravindra chipped in with one wicket each to power New Zealand to victory.
