New Zealand have unveiled their ODI and T20I squads for the upcoming white-ball tour of India, with fresh names making the cut. The tour, scheduled for next month, will serve as an important preparation phase ahead of the men’s T20 World Cup.

The biggest headline is the maiden call-up of left-arm fast bowler Jayden Lennox, who has been rewarded for his impressive domestic performances. Lennox has been included in both the ODI and T20I squads.

The ODI squad will be led by Michael Bracewell, who will captain the side in the absence of regular skipper Mitchell Santner, who continues his recovery from a groin injury. A few uncapped players have also been included in the ODI squad. Kristian Clarke has earned his first call-up, while leg-spinning all-rounder Adithya Ashok and seam-bowling all-rounder Josh Clarkson have also made the cut.

Fast bowler Michael Rae, who recently made his Test debut against West Indies earlier this month, has also been named. For the T20I squad, Mitchell Santner will return to lead the side. T20I squad is filled with explosive batting options such as Bevon Jacobs and Tim Robinson. Mark Chapman and Matt Henry also return after recovering from ankle and calf injuries respectively.

“Playing in the sub-continent is obviously very different to what we’re used to in New Zealand, so any opportunity we can get to expose our guys to those conditions can only be a good thing, especially prior to a T20 World Cup in the subcontinent," NZ head coach Rob Walter said.

New Zealand ODI squad: Michael Bracewell (c), Adi Ashok, Kristian Clarke, Josh Clarkson, Devon Conway, Zak Foulkes, Mitch Hay (wk), Kyle Jamieson, Nick Kelly, Jayden Lennox, Daryl Mitchell, Henry Nicholls, Glenn Phillips, Michael Rae, Will Young.

New Zealand T20I squad: Mitchell Santner (c), Michael Bracewell, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway (wk), Jacob Duffy, Zak Foulkes, Matt Henry, Kyle Jamieson, Bevon Jacobs, Daryl Mitchell, James Neesham, Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, Tim Robinson, Ish Sodhi.
