Birmingham Phoenix have received a major boost ahead of this year’s Women’s Hundred after confirming the retention of Ellyse Perry for a fifth consecutive season. Perry has been a central figure for Birmingham Phoenix since joining the franchise in 2022. Over the past three seasons, the Australian all-rounder has delivered consistent performances with the bat, scoring a total of 545 runs. Perry, who recently pulled out of the Women's Premier League, has been a central figure for Birmingham Phoenix over the years. Notably, she is the second-highest run-scorer in WPL history.

"I'm delighted to be returning to Birmingham Phoenix for the 2026 season. The Hundred has been such a wonderful addition to the cricket landscape, and provided so many wonderful opportunities for the further development of the women's game. The Phoenix has one of the most passionate fanbases in the competition, and it has been a true privilege to experience the home support at Edgbaston," Perry said.

Birmingham Phoenix Women's head coach Ali Maiden praised Perry, calling her a once-in-a-generation talent.

"Ellyse is a once-in-a-generation talent whose impact extends far beyond the numbers on the scorecard. She embodies professionalism, skill and competitive spirit, and we're incredibly proud she'll be part of our Phoenix Women squad again in 2026.
