Pooja Vastrakar out of WPL for two weeks

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have been dealt an early setback in the 2026 Women’s Premier League (WPL) with fast-bowling all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar ruled out of the first two weeks of the tournament due to a hamstring injury.
The development comes just after RCB made a strong opening statement in the tournament, beating defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in a nail-biting last-over finish on Friday night.
"Pooja Vastrakar was not available for selection. Two weeks prior to her release from the CoE (Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru), she unfortunately tweaked her hamstring. The information we have is that she will be there for two weeks more. Earlier, she was there [at the CoE] for her shoulder, now she has a hamstring issue. It's a week by week process. So let's see where she is at," RCB head coach Malolan Rangarajan said at the post-match press conference.
Despite the setback, RCB could not have asked for a better start to their campaign. Chasing a competitive target against Mumbai, RCB held their nerve under pressure, sealing a thrilling three-wicket victory in the last over.
