SA20 Final: Pretoria Capitals target maiden title as Sunrisers eye third

The stage is set for a blockbuster SA20 final as Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Pretoria Capitals lock horns on Sunday at Newlands, Cape Town. In the short history of the SA20, one team has defined dominance, with Sunrisers Eastern Cape remaining as the powerhouse. Four seasons. Four finals. Two championship titles. They represent a culture of winning that has made the Sunrisers the benchmark of success in the league. For many teams, lifting the SA20 title has meant first finding a way past the Orange Army. Moreover, Sunrisers Eastern Cape have mastered the art of peaking at the right time.
Pretoria Capitals, on the other hand, has shown persistence and reinvention. Their campaign began unsteadily, with three losses in their first five completed matches threatening to derail their ambitions. But instead of going down under pressure, the Capitals regrouped with remarkable clarity. Three wins in their next four matches put them back in the tournament.
In Qualifier 1, Pretoria Capitals delivered a commanding performance against Sunrisers Eastern Cape, securing their place in the final. It is only the second time in SA20 history that the Capitals have reached the final. After finishing as runners-up in the inaugural season, Pretoria Capitals endured disappointment by missing the playoffs in seasons two and three. However, this time they would hope to go all the way.
