Lahore Qalandars sign Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman ahead of PSL 2026

Defending champions Lahore Qalandars have secured Bangladesh's tearaway pacer Mustafizur Rahman for PKR 6.44 crore, announcing him as their direct signing for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026. This will be Mustafizur's third association with the franchise, underscoring the franchise's continued faith in his ability in the shortest format of the game.
His association with the Qalandars goes back to the inaugural PSL season back in 2016 when he was first acquired by the franchise. However, he missed out following a shoulder injury. Later, in 2018, he again featured for the Qalandars, making his debut and featuring in five games. Across five matches, he claimed four wickets, maintaining an impressive economy rate of 6.43.
“Once a Qalandar, always a Qalandar. Mustafizur isn’t just a player; he is a brother, a key part of our family who never left. We are thrilled to welcome him back to our dressing room," Qalandars owner Sameen Rana said, as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.
"His talent, experience, and dedication will be invaluable as we aim to defend our title and make a statement in PSL 11."
This comes after Mustafizur Rahman was last month released by Kolkata Knight Riders from their IPL 2026 squad following instructions from BCCI. He had been picked by the three-time IPL champions for a sum of ₹9.20 crore at the auction.
