Namibia crashed to a heavy 93-run defeat in the 18th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup against India on Thursday in New Delhi, failing to chase down a daunting target of 210 and being bowled out for 116 in 18.2 overs. Chasing a mammoth total of 209, Namibia’s batting unit struggled to maintain momentum after a promising start.

Openers Louren Steenkamp and Jan Frylinck provided early hope, scoring 29 and 22 respectively to lay a steady foundation. However, the Indian bowling attack quickly tightened the screws, preventing Namibia’s middle order from accelerating. Once the openers departed, Namibia’s innings lost direction, with the middle order faltering under mounting pressure. Varun Chakravarthy was the standout performer with the ball for India, claiming three crucial wickets. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel also played pivotal roles, picking up two wickets each to help India overpower Namibia.

Earlier, India put up an imposing total after being invited to bat first. Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya led the charge with explosive half-centuries that powered the hosts to 209/9 in 20 overs. Kishan was aggressive, smashing 61 off 24 deliveries. Hardik Pandya scored a powerful 52 off 28 balls.
