Australia's Ellyse Perry and Kim Garth out of India ODIs with injuries

Australia have suffered a major setback, with Ellyse Perry and Kim Garth ruled out of the ODI series against. Cricket Australia confirmed that both players picked up injuries during Saturday night’s defeat to India in the third T20I at the Adelaide Oval. Perry’s unavailability is particularly significant. A pillar of the Australian side across formats, her dual role as a top-order batter and seam-bowling option provides crucial balance. 

"Their availability for the Test match will be assessed at the end of the ODI series pending on how they progress with rehab," Cricket Australia said in a release. 

To cover the setbacks, Australia have called up Megan Schutt and rising seamer Lucy Hamilton. Meanwhile, India decided to bat in the first ODI in Brisbane.
