Rinku Singh’s father passes away after battle with cancer
In deeply saddening news, Indian batter Rinku Singh lost his father, Khanchand Singh, on Friday following a prolonged battle with stage-four cancer. He was undergoing treatment at Yatharth Hospital, where his health reportedly deteriorated earlier this week. According to reports, Khanchand Singh’s condition worsened significantly in recent days, leading doctors to place him on ventilator support. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to the illness.
Notably, at the time of his father’s declining health, Rinku was with the Indian squad preparing for the T20 World Cup match against Zimbabwe. However, upon learning about the seriousness of the situation, the left-handed batter travelled to be by his father’s side.
Meanwhile, with his father’s condition failing to improve, Rinku returned to rejoin the national team ahead of the crucial encounter. Although he did not feature in the playing XI for the match, with Sanju Samson getting the nod.
