AUS-W vs IND-W, 3rd ODI: India look to avoid series defeat against ruthless Australia

Having already lost the series with defeats in the first two ODIs, a struggling India are gearing up to salvage pride against a dominant Australia in the third and final women’s ODI in Hobart on Sunday. The series has been a massive reality check for India after having been outclassed across all departments.
Australia have barely allowed India a foothold across the opening two matches. In both ODIs, the top order has failed to convert starts into meaningful contributions, leaving the middle order with too much to do against an incisive Australian attack. Lack of partnerships have also been a major problem for India. India headed into ODIs buoyed by a 2-1 T20I series win and the psychological lift of their historic 2025 World Cup semi-final win over the Aussies. Yet the transition from T20Is to the ODI format has exposed gaps.
For Australia, the series has reinforced their status as an unstoppable force at home. Their bowling attack has executed plans with precision, consistently striking at crucial moments. In the field, they have been sharp and energetic. Heading into the final ODI in Hobart, Australia will eye a series whitewash, while India will aim to avoid the series sweep and restore belief.
