Finn Allen smashed a superb century as New Zealand delivered a commanding performance to book their place in the final of the Men’s T20 World Cup, crushing South Africa by nine wickets in the first semi-final at Kolkata on Wednesday. Deciding to bowl after winning the toss, New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner's decision paid rich dividends as the Black Caps dismantled South Africa’s top order early. The Proteas found themselves reeling at 77 for 5 midway through the innings, struggling to build partnerships.

The early breakthrough came from all-rounder Cole McConchie, who struck twice in two balls in the second over to leave South Africa on the back foot. However, middle-order contributions from Dewald Brevis (34) and Tristan Stubbs (29) attempted to steady the innings, but it was Marco Jansen who provided the late surge. Jansen hammered an unbeaten 55 off 30 deliveries, lifting South Africa to a respectable 169/8 in 20 overs. Chasing 170 for victory, New Zealand openers turned the match into a one-sided affair.

Tim Seifert and Finn Allen launched a relentless assault from the outset. The duo raced to a blistering start, setting a big platform for New Zealand's win. Seifert smashed 59 runs before departing. Allen, however, remained unstoppable, blasting an unbeaten 100 to take the side to victory.
