T20 World Cup, 2026: England decide to bowl in high-stakes semi-final clash against India

England chose to bowl against India on Thursday in Mumbai in the much-anticipated semi-final of the Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Both teams are entering the contest with an impressive tournament and a lovely run of form. India have enjoyed a strong campaign throughout the tournament, winning six of their seven matches so far.
Their only defeat came in the Super 8 stage, where they suffered a 76-run defeat against South Africa. Despite that loss, the team bounced back with convincing victories to secure a semi-final berth. England, led by Harry Brook, have been equally impressive in the tournament. The team has also won six out of their seven matches and enters the semi-final with strong confidence, riding a five-match winning streak. India have made no change to their XI while England have brought in Jamie Overton for Rehan Ahmed.
