Sri Lanka announce squad for Women’s T20 World Cup 2026

Sri Lanka have unveiled their squad for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, with veteran star Chamari Athapaththu set to lead the side. The dynamic all-rounder is set to feature in her tenth consecutive Women's T20 World Cup, having featured in every edition of the competition since its inception.
Sri Lanka have placed their faith in the rising stars, with Imesha Dulani, Hansima Karunaratne, Kaushini Nuthyangana, Sugandika Dasanayaka, Nimasha Madushani, Kawya Kavindi, Malki Madara, and Mithali Ayodhya all securing maiden selections for the tournament which will be played in England and Wales from June 12.
Sri Lanka have also retained a few experienced players in Hasini Perera, Harshitha Samarawickrama, and Nilakshika Silva. Sri Lanka, who have been placed in group 2 alongside hosts England, Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and defending champion New Zealand, will begin their campaign on June 12 against England.
